About St. Thomas Mission

St. Thomas Mission, Bhilai, stands as one of the pioneering organizations dedicated to the holistic development of individuals, transcending barriers of race, caste, or creed. Serving as the official socio-developmental wing of the Diocese, St. Thomas Mission is committed to social action, relief, and sustainable development.

Registered under the Societies Registration Act (Chhattisgarh) XXVI of 1961 with the registration number 8400 of 1979, the mission’s registered office is located at the St. Thomas Mission Centre in Kailash Nagar, Industrial Estate, Bhilai, District Durg, Chhattisgarh, India. Founded in 1972 by the Late and beloved H. H. Baselios Mar Thoma Mathews I, the then Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan, the mission was established with a vision to serve the community through acts of compassion and service.

The mission’s first Director and President was the Late H.G. Dr. Stephanos Mar Theodosius Metropolitan, who provided visionary leadership that shaped its early years. This legacy of dedicated service was continued by H.G. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius, and presently, H.G. Alexios Mar Eusebius Metropolitan serves as the Director, guiding the mission forward with unwavering commitment and compassion. Under his leadership, St. Thomas Mission continues to impact the lives of many, promoting empowerment, education, and development, all grounded in the values of love, service, and faith.
