St. Thomas Orthodox Vaidika Sangham
The St. Thomas Orthodox Vaidhika Sanghom (STOVS) traces its origins to the visionary leadership of St. Gregorios of Parumala, whose dedication to unity and spiritual growth laid the foundation for an enduring clergy association within the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. Understanding the need for collective fellowship and collaboration, the Saint convened the first gathering of priests, fostering a spirit of togetherness and mutual support. Although the association faced periods of inactivity due to various challenges, it was revitalized during the tenure of Joseph Mar Dionysius II, the founder of M.D. Seminary, and has since continued to evolve, strengthening the bonds of the clergy.
Under the presidentship of H.G. Alexios Mar Eusebius Metropolitan, Rev. Fr. George C. Varghese serves as the Vaideeka Sanghom Secretary of STOVS Calcutta Diocese.

Our clergy are dedicated to ministering to the faithful across linguistic and cultural barriers, celebrating the Holy Qurbana in Hindi and English to ensure the message of Christ reaches all hearts.
Throughout the year, we come together for spiritual nourishment and administrative development through various events, including:
- Orientation Class on Church Accounting: Strengthening administrative skills for effective parish management.
- Family Meet: Fostering bonds of friendship and support among clergy families.
- Monthly Online & In-Person Clergy Meets: Providing a platform for ongoing dialogue and fellowship.
- Annual Priest Retreat (during Great Lent): A sacred time for reflection and spiritual rejuvenation.
- PRANJA: A Great Lent daily devotion initiative, where clergy share meditative thoughts on the Holy Gospel.
- OLIVE: A voluntary community for the children of priests to connect and grow together.
Together, STOVS strive to uphold the values of our faith, encourage spiritual growth, and strengthen our diocesan community. As priests of the Diocese of Calcutta, we are devoted to carrying out our ministry in the spirit of love, humility, and service, ever guided by the teachings of Christ and the rich traditions of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.
