St. Stephen’s Orthodox Syrian Church, Ranchi Hosts Ex-Members’ Reunion
Ranchi: A reunion of former members of St. Stephen’s Orthodox Syrian Church, Ranchi was held at the parish from October 31st to November 2nd, 2025, under the banner of SEMM (SSOSC – Ex Members Meet). The three-day spiritual and fellowship event brought together ex-members and their families from across India and abroad, making it a truly memorable gathering. Participants arrived from the USA, Dubai, Cochin, Trivandrum, Kottayam, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Bhubaneswar, many returning to the church after a long interval. The meet commenced with Sandhya Namaskaram and intercessory prayers at the Shrine of St. Gregorios of Parumala. The opening ceremony, themed “Re-Connect,” featured cultural programs presented by the Sunday School, MGOCSM & YM, and Marth Mariam Samajam. The second day carried the theme “Renew & Rejoice.” It began with prayer, Bible reading, and sharing of experiences by ex-members, recalling cherished moments from their time in the parish. The Kudumba Yogam was graced by Rev. Fr. Thomas K. Thomas, Vicar of St. Thomas Marthoma Church, Ranchi, who delivered an inspiring spiritual message. The evening witnessed the Perunnal of St. Gregorios, marked by Raasa procession and Evening Prayers, followed by a felicitation ceremony. The reunion concluded on November 2nd with the Holy Qurbana, Perunal services, and a Raasa procession. To further strengthen the bonds of fellowship, a family outing was organized for all participants, bringing the event to a joyful close.
