The Ecological Commission of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church envisions faith communities as living witnesses of eco-justice, proclaiming the gospel of abundant life through acts of care, compassion, and the pursuit of justice.

Under the presidentship of H.G. Alexios Mar Eusebius Metropolitan, Rev. Fr. Shinu Cherian serves as the Vice- President of the Ecological Commission of Calcutta Diocese.

We believe that all of creation, lovingly made and declared good by God, is an interconnected community of life. Our purpose is to tend and safeguard the world, honoring its inherent worth and rejecting any actions that harm, exploit, or treat nature as a commodity. In the face of this brokenness, the Church is called to be a beacon of hope, a healing presence amidst death and destruction. This sacred mission invites us to stand against forces of harm and join hands in the struggle to renew the earth.
