Asha Kendra Bokaro is a beacon of hope and a symbol of compassion-driven education, reaching out to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in the village of Lakadakhanda, near Bokaro. Asha Kendra provides free, high-quality education to children who would otherwise be denied the right to learn due to poverty and lack of access.

Rooted deeply in the values of service, inclusion, and empowerment, Asha Kendra reflects the broader vision of the St. Thomas Mission to uplift the underprivileged through education and holistic support. Currently, the center supports over 225 students from Nursery to Class V, offering not just lessons in reading and writing, but also in dignity, self-worth, and the power of community.

In many rural pockets of India, children grow up with limited resources, minimal exposure, and no access to structured schooling. Many are first-generation learners, and their families—bound by daily struggles—are unable to prioritize education.
