𝐎𝐂𝐘𝐌 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 “𝐌𝐮𝐤𝐭𝐡𝐢 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞” 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞

The OCYM Calcutta Diocese launched “Mukthi Drive,” a comprehensive campaign against drug abuse, via Google Meet on June 16, 2025. The campaign aligns with the DRUXIT initiative by H. H. Baselios Marthoma Mathews III. H.G. Alexios Mar Eusebius Metropolitan presided over the meeting, which was inaugurated by H.G. Dr. Geevarghese Mar Yulios Metropolitan (Central President, OCYM). The meeting saw participation from parishes in 10 states across North and Eastern India and Kuwait. Experts including Ms. Ann Kurian (Psychologist), Mr. Prasad Mathew (Excise Inspector), and Rev. Fr. Jain C. Mathew (Central Vice President, OCYM) and Rev. Fr. Reji C. Varghese (Diocesan Education Officer) discussed the medical, legal, and spiritual aspects of drug abuse. A trilingual emotional support helpline was also launched. Office bearers of OCYM namely, Rev. Fr. Joji Rajan (Vice – President, OCYM Calcutta Diocese), Rev. Fr. Aju K. Varghese (President, OCYM Kuwait Zone), Mr. Renju M. Joy (OCYM, Central Treasurer), Adv. Robin Raju (OCYM OKR Central Secretary) and Dr. Aippuru John (Secretary, OCYM Calcutta Diocese) also spoke on the occasion.
